Ron's Story

How It All Started

I grew up in Brook Park, Ohio—a working-class community on Cleveland's west side where families looked out for each other. I attended the Berea City School District from elementary through high school, graduating from Midpark High with honors in 1997. Those years taught me that financial security isn't just about money; it's about protecting the people you love.

While heavily involved in music—four years in the Symphonic Choir and Mid Magic Show Choir—I also played little league baseball for Brook Park for eight years. After high school, I worked full-time in the Steel and Aerospace industries while earning my Bachelor's degree in Finance from Cleveland State University, graduating in 2003. Balancing work and school taught me discipline and showed me firsthand what working families go through.

What drew me to financial planning wasn't the complexity of investment strategies or insurance products. It was the moment when a client tells me they finally feel confident about their family's future. That relief in their voice—that's why I do this work.

I started The Protection Pro because I believe everyone deserves access to honest, straightforward financial advice. Too many people feel intimidated by financial advisors or pressured into products they don't understand. That's not how I operate.

Professional Experience

The Journey

My journey in financial services began in September 2003 at a local bank as a Financial Planning Assistant. Those first two years taught me the fundamentals of mutual funds and annuities while learning the ropes of client service. In November 2005, I was recruited by Guardian Life Insurance Company, where I deepened my expertise and earned my securities licenses—including the Series 7 and SIE certifications that allow me to provide comprehensive investment and insurance guidance.

Over the past two decades, I've had the privilege of helping hundreds of Cleveland-area families navigate life's biggest financial decisions. From young parents buying their first life insurance policy to business owners planning their exit strategy, each client has taught me something new about what matters most.

Today, I specialize in three key areas: protection planning for families who want to secure their income and loved ones, wealth management for professionals building toward retirement, and business advisory for owners who need a clear plan for their company's future. This focused approach allows me to go deep rather than wide—providing real expertise where it matters most.

When I'm not helping clients, I'm a proud father of three—two daughters (25 and 12) and a son (8)—who keep me grounded and remind me every day why financial security matters. My faith is central to who I am, and I've been blessed to share my love of music through church choirs, worship teams, a cappella groups, and contemporary Christian bands across Greater Cleveland.

Music has been a lifelong passion—from my four years in Midpark's Symphonic Choir and Mid Magic Show Choir to playing guitar and yes, even karaoke nights around town. I also love exploring the beautiful Metroparks system, golfing (though I'm still working on my game), and spending time with animals at the zoo. This perspective shapes everything I do at The Protection Pro—balancing the serious work of financial planning with genuine connection and community.
